Ep 1: Behold…The Inhumans
So, before I get to the review of this episode, let me get this out of the way…
LOCKJAW! OMFG! LOCKJAW! I LOVE THIS PUPPY SO MUCH…!
Whew…now that’s out of my system, let’s get professional here…Wait, I just can’t…LOCKJAW! WHO IS A GOOD PUPPY! YOU ARE! YES, YOU ARE!
Ahem…sorry about that. Don’t know what came over me. *cough, cough* So as I was saying, I am going to review the first two episodes of Marvels: The Inhumans. I want to talk about several different points for this first episode. The first point that I will address is the look of the Inhumans.
After looking at this episode, I can say that I don’t have a problem with the look of the Inhumans. The leather suits look believable, and the representations of their powers are fine taking into account that this is TV and not a big budget movie. Especially with Medusa’s hair. They could have spent a little more on the CGI for her hair, but since it is a TV show, the budget is not as large as it would be for a movie production. The manifestation of the individual powers, lends itself to what we saw during the last two seasons of Agents of SHIELD. Not over the top, but plausible. Can’t wait to see how far they go during the season.
Next we take a look at the setting. Setting it in Oahu, lends itself to the tropical nature that they had in the comics of Atilan when it was floating above the Earth. I think that at some point during the season, they are going to transport the entire city to Oahu (probably the crater area that Medusa found herself in, because it did look big enough to hide an entire city of Inhumans.), and who doesn’t like being in Hawaii?
The next post we will look at the story behind the episode and if they hit the mark or missed it. Stay Tuned for more…:)
